Who we are

TCGuessr is a free fan-made Magic: The Gathering quiz. This page explains what data we collect and how it is used.

Data we collect

Display name— the name you enter to join a room. Stored in your browser's localStorage and sent to our server so other players in the same room can see it. Not shared with third parties.
Room activity (answers, scores, timing) — kept in server memory only for the duration of the game session and deleted when the room closes.
Basic request logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamps) from our hosting provider, retained briefly for abuse prevention and debugging.

We do not ask for, and do not store, email addresses, passwords, or accounts.

Cookies and advertising

TCGuessr displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads.

EU, UK, and Swiss visitors will see a consent banner asking whether personalized ads may be shown; if declined, non-personalized ads are served instead.

Third-party services

Scryfall— card images and metadata are loaded from Scryfall. When the game displays a card, your browser makes a request to Scryfall's servers, which may log your IP address.
Google AdSense — as described above.
Our hosting provider — used to serve the site and relay real-time game events. Standard access logs apply.

Your rights

Because we do not store accounts or long-lived personal data, there is typically no record for us to delete beyond clearing your browser's localStorage. If you believe we hold data about you and want it removed, contact us using the address below.
